I will be posting new photos of my Artificial Eye patients in this page, I'm just working on the before and afters as well as getting the permission of my patients, as some of them aren't comfortable having their pictures on my website and their privacy is something i respect.
I was finally able to adjust the color of my patient's Artificial Eye. I had to make sure the color of the prosthesis is accurate as possible because the patient is coming from Isabella, hours of drive away from Pampanga.
I will not be having clinic from November 2 up until November 9, 2015 as I will be travelling out of the country for vacation as well as training to further improve my practice.
Please do contact me for appointment after the said dates! Smaller Conformer Shells can sometimes make an Artificial Eye Fitting a little more challenging.I've been noticing a lot of my patients either has a small conformer shells that they've been using for a long time or didn't have one at all since the operation. They were a little challenging but I have high hopes that I could maximize the look of their prosthesis aesthetically. One of the function of Conformer shells is to keep the size of the Eye socket from getting smaller. Therefore, a small conformer shell that is used for quite a little while could results to the eye socket being smaller than usual.
Usually my patients will need more than just 2 visits before we can finalize the shape of their Artificial Eye. RELATED: What is an Artificial Eye? It was probably one of the best fitting of Artificial Eye I've ever made. I was impressed of the outcome and so as the patient's relatives who were first to see the fitting. Unfortunately, I couldn't post it here because I wasn't able to ask for permission to post it online.
His eye is the one on the left of the picture. it fitted well. The Corneo-Scleral lymbus is very obvious if you look at the person a few feet away. It's just one of the things that makes my day. I will not be having clinic duties on the first week of October specifically from the 6th to the 10th of October due to being out of town. Clinic will resume on the 11th of October.
Thank you! Dr. Mark Paul S. Paroli Despite having a very busy week, I still tend to give time to practice my Artificial Eye painting.
I have always been a supportive optometrist in Resources for the Blind inc., last week I was given the chance to become a lecturer in Tarlac Eye Center and the topic was about orienting the Optometrists and other health workers about patients with Low Vision and the Low Vision rehabilitation, along with one of the most active volunteer, Dr. Shammah Tomacruz who also has her own Optical Clinic in Cubao, Metro Manila.
