A Teachers Journey: Dreaming and Believing

"The good thing was I have my family who supported me all the way that's why I never gave up my studies. I continued dreaming and believing. I am proud that I am a teacher now."
Artificial Eye
Retinoblastoma is one of the most common reason why Parents with an Infant who have had their eyes removed would contact me for an Artificial Eye. Personally, I feel more pressured when fitting a Child with an Artificial Eye because I'm aware that it will have a big impact in their life, especially socially during their Elementary and High School years. This is also where the importance of Family comes in, and in God's grace, the person in this story has one.

PS: I would like to Congratulate this patient, despite the bullying and other difficulties, she successfully graduated to become a Teacher.
With her outgoing attitude, I'm sure she will go places and will surely be a big part of her Pupil's life.  :)

It all happened when I was two years old. I was diagnosed then to have Retinoblastoma (a malignant tumor of the retina that develops during childhood). So the doctors decided to remove my right eye. Since I don't really know the feeling back then my life was still ok. My parents told me that after a year or two they got me an Artificial eye (ready made). My life was still the same but not until I entered elementary.

I only go to school once or twice a week because I suffered from bullying (halata pa rin kasi yung artificial eye dati). My classmates teases me a lot and calls me from different names. That was really the hardest part of my life. I am alone and feels sad everyday. I always feel hopeless and angry with the situation I have. The good thing was I have my family who supported me all the way that's why I never gave up my studies. I continued dreaming and believing. I am proud that I am a teacher now. And recently I found out that there was a doctor named "Mark Paroli" who do prosthetic eye perfectly. So I browsed the internet for some information and that's it! It all started there. And now, all I can say is that its all worth it.

Wearing the "Paroli Made" prosthetic eye boost my confidence. All the people around me (including my pupils) said that "may nagbago kay teacher" So I tell them the story and they were all amazed with it. A big big thanks to Soliman-Paroli Eyecare especially Doc Mark for the new LIFE.

Thank you for your Post. I hope you also share the sentiment that losing an eye doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams. :)

Be sure to take good care of the remaining one, and always clean the eyelid of your Artificial Eye =)

Is this for real po? Kasi naopera po ako noon ng glaucoma and cataract yr 2012 nilagyan pa nga po ng artificial lens pero after how many yrs po ang nakalipas hindi po makakita iyong left eye ko liwanag lamang po ang naaaninag and lumiit pa po iyong left eye ko na naoperahan at nalagyan ng lens. So, it is advisable po ba na i-substitute yang artificial eye for my case?
